Venice Day 2
Started Day 2 in Venice early with a run down to the sea.
Found a park at the end of the main walking area with another section of homes. There was a take a book give a book booth that Erin would have liked -- if she was fluent in Italian. 😅
Got a morning photo of the area where we were staying, including the hotel.
Later in the morning, we had a Viator planned for Dodge Palace and the Basilica. Unfortunately, Antonio was not feeling very well and Josh ended up having to go back with him to the hotel room. :(
The paintings and decorations in the palace and basilica were breathtaking. I picked up some kind of chicken sandwich at lunch time called cotolette. It was yummy. The boys got blood orange Powerades.
In between our tour sessions we scheduled COVID tests through a government location in the square. We needed a negative test for everyone in order to board the cruise ship. Luckily, everyone tested negative and we got our necessary documentation.
Later we walked around St. Peter's Square and then ended up getting dinner at a restaurant directly on the water. I finally got to try the blank ink pasta from a cuttlefish. I thought it was very good. Erin was not as big of a fan of the polenta (she said it was too hard/crispy). The dessert was amazing though!
After dinner we got gelato and bought the kids launching toys for 15 euros that they immediately lost/broke :-)
